Trek Overview
The Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return is the ultimate way to experience the world's most iconic trekking destination without the long walk back down. You'll trek the classic route up through the Khumbu which is the same trail Hillary and Tenzing once walked by passing through Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, and increasingly dramatic mountain scenery, before standing at the foot of Mt. Everest itself. The difference is the return: instead of retracing your steps for another 4–5 days, you'll board a helicopter from near Everest Base Camp and fly directly back to Kathmandu, taking in an aerial view of the entire Khumbu range along the way. It's the same bucket-list achievement in roughly a third of the time, making it ideal for trekkers with limited vacation days who still want the full base camp experience. This isn't a shortcut on the challenge because you still trek all the way up, gain the same altitude, and face the same acclimatization demands. What you skip is the repetitive, physically taxing walk back down, replaced instead by one of the most spectacular short flights in the world.

Accommodation & Meals
Accommodation
You'll spend one night in Kathmandu before the trek in a comfortable tourist-standard hotel. On the trail, you'll stay in traditional teahouses run by local Sherpa families. This is the most well-developed teahouse route in Nepal, with reliable rooms, blankets, and shared bathroom facilities throughout, including near Base Camp. Hot showers and Wi-Fi are widely available for a small fee, though pricing increases at higher elevations like Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep.
Meals
All meals during the trek are included. Breakfast typically consists of porridge, eggs, pancakes, and toast. Lunches and dinners feature dal bhat (rice with lentil soup), noodles, momos, fried rice, and simple pasta dishes. Vegetarian options are always available. Thanks to the route's popularity and infrastructure, menu variety stays fairly consistent even close to Base Camp, though prices rise with altitude since supplies are carried in by porter or yak.
