About Ultralight Flight
Take to the skies above the Himalayas on an ultralight flight departing from Pokhara Airport, one of the few places in the world where you can fly this close to 8,000-metre peaks in a small, lightweight two-seater aircraft. Flights are available in both open-cockpit and closed-cockpit versions and can be booked for 15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes, giving you sweeping aerial views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), the Pokhara Valley, and the turquoise waters of Phewa Lake below.
Highlights
- 15 Minutes : A quick soar above Pokhara city and Fewa Lake, with the Annapurna range rising in the distance ; a fast, thrilling introduction to ultralight flying, best flown at sunrise or sunset.
- 30 Minutes : Climb higher above Pokhara for a wider sweep of the valley, taking in the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) as Fewa Lake shrinks into a glimmering ribbon below. A solid middle ground between a quick thrill and a full mountain flight.
- 60 Minutes : Cruise further toward the Himalayan foothills for sustained, close-up views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, with the Pokhara Valley's terraced fields and villages stretching out beneath you, plenty of time to take it all in and capture it on camera.
- 90 Minutes : The longest flight on offer, tracing the widest arc over Pokhara's valley, lake, and mountain skyline for the most complete aerial encounter with the Himalayas possible, an unhurried, once-in-a-lifetime flight for serious mountain enthusiasts.
